Brisbane Basketball COVID19 Update 2
25th March 2020
The COVID-19 situation is on everyone’s mind and Australia’s response is constantly changing.
In Update 1 March 18th 2020 I advised you Brisbane Basketball was suspending all competitions for two weeks to wait and see what unfolded. Following that communication the recent understandable action by the Australian Government to close all indoor stadiums and gyms for an initial 4 week period commencing 12.00pm Monday 23rd March will now move our competition suspension date out until at least the 20th April.
Among other things you may also be wondering what we are planning so I would like to inform you that,
- we are planning to complete the senior summer season and will recommence this competition as soon as possible. It will have a 2 week finals series (normally 3), and then, rollover without a break into our winter season which we plan to conclude towards the middle of December as per usual.
- For player registrations, when we know the extent of the competition suspension we will extend the expiry date for that amount of time, for example, if competitions were suspended for 2 months then we would extend the registration expiry date by 2 months thereby providing full registration value to you
We will continue to monitor this evolving situation closely and will keep you updated with any developments.
In the meantime, thank you for your ongoing support and please take the necessary precautions to look after yourself and your family. We look forward to getting back on court at the earliest possible time.
